Nokia launched Nokia Lumia 925, a new Windows Phone in the Lumia range, comes with a price tag of Rs 33,999 in India, is available for preorder. The phone runs on Windows Phone 8 OS and is powered by a strong Dual-core processor, the Qualcomm Snapdragon™ S4 which could clock at 1.5 GHz.
The device homes a superb 4.5 ” AMOLED WXGA Super sensitive touch display with TrueColor (24-bit/16M), which possess a screen resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels along with a pixel density of 334 ppi for clearer images. The display is protected by Sculpted glass, the Corning® Gorilla® Glass 2.
The display features ClearBlack technology, Brightness control, Orientation sensor, High brightness mode, Refresh rate of 60 Hz, Lumia Color profile, Wide viewing angle, Nokia Glance screen, Sunlight readability enhancements and is easy to clean.
Nokia offers a RAM of 1 GB, mass memory of 16 GB and free cloud storage of 7 GB along with the phone. The data can be stored in the device and in SkyDrive cloud storage.
The phone sports twin cameras, out of which the main camera features an 8.7 MP sensor with PureView, dual LED flash, auto focus with two-stage capture key, Carl Zeiss Tessar lens and 4X digital zoom.
[advt]The main camera also features touch focus, landscape orientation, Face recognition, Optical image stabilization, True 16:9 sensor, PureView, Backside-illuminated image sensor, Creative Studio, 6-lens optics and digital camera addons such as Nokia Smart Camera, Cinemagraph lens, Panorama lens and Bing vision Photography apps.
The camera used in Lumia allows users to take quality pictures under low light. With the PureView technology, Carl Zeiss optics and six physical lenses, the device takes better photos in low light, in both and day.
Nokia had integrated Ambient light sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Proximity sensor and Magnetometer sensors in the device. Also the device security had been enhanced by the usage of advance security features such as Lost device tracking, Browser integrated anti-phishing and Data encryption.
Lumia 925 has single micro SIM port, micro USB 2.0 USB port and 3.5 mm audio jack for AV purposes in its hardware side. For connectivity, Nokia had successfully integrated Bluetooth v3.0 with A2DP, WiFi WLAN IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n and secure NFC for payment, sharing, pairing & tagging.
For navigation, the Lumia 925 has Nokia City Lens, HERE Drive, HERE Maps and HERE Transit, all from Nokia. The location technologies used are Magnetometer, Assisted GPS and GLONASS.
The other software and applications pre-installed are Adobe acrobat reader & Lync (both are available for free download), SkyDrive storage, Company Hub for enterprise applications and Office apps such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint & OneNote.
The power management is handled by a battery of capacity 2000 mAh, which offers a talk time of 18.3 hours in 2G mode & 12.8 hours in 3G mode, standby time of 440 hours in 3G mode and music playback time of 55 hours. Nokia had made wireless charging available with this model.
