Nokia India announced the arrival of their newest phone in the Lumia range, viz the Nokia Lumia 1020. The eye-catchy feature of this phone is its 41 Mega Pixel camera with PureView.
It is a Windows 8 phone which is powered by a 1.5 GHz Dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon™ S4 processor and 2 GB RAM. The phone offers a mass memory of 32 GB and a free cloud storage space of 7 GB in SkyDrive.
The main camera comes with a Xenon Flash with an operating range of 4 meters. It offers a maximum picture resolution of 7712 x 5360 pixels. It has the Auto Focus option. The lens used in the camera module is Carl Zeiss Tessar lens. Nokia Pro Camera, Panorama, Creative Studio, Nokia Smart Camera, Nokia Glam Me Lens, PhotoBeamer and Cinemagraph features in the camera options. It also has a good ISO range between 100 and 3200. The device also homes a secondary camera of 1.2 MP at front with a resolution of 1280×960 pixels.
The device homes a 4.5″ ClearBlack AMOLED WXGA Super sensitive touch display with TrueColor [24 bit-16 M] and 1280×768 pixel screen resolution, which offer 334 PPI pixel density. The display features PureMotion HD+, brightness control, high brightness mode, Nokia Glance screen, Lumia Color profile, wide viewing angle, sunlight readability enhancements and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 which is a sculpted glass and is easy to clean.
Additional luxuries of the device includes Ambient light sensor, Accelerometer, Barometer, Gyroscope, Proximity sensor and Magnetometer.
The Micro SIM phone has a Micro-USB port and a 3.5 mm Audio jack. The device features Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi WLAN IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n, GPS/A-GPS/A-GLONASS, HERE maps, HERE Transit and HERE Drive+ in its connectivity and navigation options.
The BV-5XW battery which powers the device has a capacity of 2000 mAh and the company assures it can provide 13.3 hours talk time in 3G mode and 19.1 hours talk time in 2G mode. It also has wireless charging option which comes with an accessory cover.
The company claims that the phone is free of PVC, contains recycled metals, free of nickel on the product surface and free of BFR, rFR. Also they claim that it is an environment friendly phone which can be recycled and is 100% recoverable as materials and energy.
Possible launch date of Nokia Lumia 1020 is declared as 26th July, 2013. It will first hit in the US market, associated with AT & T.
