Microsoft has now enabled us to sign up with an email to receive more information about Windows 10 and the upgrade offer in the coming months. The upgrade offer is valid only in the first year. Sign up now.
Microsoft offers a free upgrade service to Windows 10 for qualified new or existing Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1 Update and Windows Phone 8.1 devices that upgrade in the first year! Other editions such as Windows 7 Enterprise, Windows 8/8.1 Enterprise, and Windows RT/RT 8.1 do not qualify for the upgrade.
Once a qualified Windows device is upgraded to Windows 10, Microsoft will continue to keep it up to date for the supported lifetime of the device, keeping it more secure, and introducing new features and functionality over time – for no additional charge.
There are some constraints for the upgrade. The availability of the Windows Phone upgrade may vary by OEM (Manufacturer), mobile operator, or carrier.
Devices must be connected to the internet and have Windows Update enabled. Thus Internet service provider fees may apply. You cannot get a legitimate Windows 10 DVD for free to upgrade your computer. This option works well, if you have a reliable high speed internet connection.
You need to have the Windows 7 SP1 or Windows 8.1 Update version on the system. The lower version are not supported for the upgrade.
