INQ Chat 3G & INQ Mini 3G Social Mobiles – Twitter, Facebook, Skype & IM

INQ Mobile announced two new 3G Social Mobiles – INQ Chat 3G and INQ Mini 3G. Both the phones have Twitter, Facebook, Skype and Instant Messaging functionalities built-in. These INQ mobiles also offers free push Gmail and media sync with PC and Macs.

Recently, Aircel has partnered with INQ offering INQ CHAT 3G (priced at Rs 7,599) and INQ MINI (priced at Rs 5,399) in India.

INQ has developed an authentic Twitter application for both its new Social Mobiles. After the initial log in, Twitter will be ‘always on’. You can send tweets and retweet via the internet rather than using SMS.

The INQ Chat 3G is the company’s first qwerty-style phone. With the INQ Chat, a specially designed Twitter widget will deliver Twitter updates straight to the home screen.

The INQ Chat 3G has a new email client developed by INQ that incorporates free push Gmail. The INQ Chat 3G comes complete with the expanded suite of INQ applications; Facebook, Skype, email, IM and Twitter.

The INQ Mini 3G is a slimline Social Mobile that offers Twitter, Facebook, IM, Skype and web-based email services like Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail and GMail. Like the INQ Chat, the INQ Mini offers impressive capability at a fraction of the price of other application-rich devices.

The INQ Mini 3G and the INQ Chat 3G have plug and play HSDPA modems enabling high-speed wireless broadband on PCs and Macs. The INQ Chat 3G and INQ Mini 3G applications can be updated over the air – a unique feature essential to keep pace with how online applications change and consumer usage evolves.

INQ is also introducing seamless media syncing between its devices and PCs or Macs. The software, powered by doubleTwist, syncs music from iTunes and WMP straight to your INQ mobile and, unlike most other sync solutions, doesn’t require the customer to give up using their favourite media player on their computer. The new mobiles from INQ will also be able to sync video and photos.

INQ phones multi-task, so key applications like Facebook, Skype, IM and email are ‘always on’ and accessible with one click from the home screen; a log-in to any application is required only once.

An average of 65% of INQ users use Facebook regularly, 30% use their INQ frequently for email, and Windows Live Messenger activity is three to four times greater than on comparably priced 3G phones.

In February 2009, INQ1 won ‘handset of the year’ at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

The INQ Chat 3G and INQ Mini 3G will be available in the last quarter of 2009.

  1. i want to know that whether this phone has front camera or not. i m looking for a phone which gives me video calling feature with qwerty keyboard and dual sim which is not mandatory ,

  2. The custom OS of this Nokia E71 look alike seamlessly integrates Facebook (including contacts, along with profile pictures and status’) and Twitter. Skype, a multi-platform IM client and push e-mail (Hotmail and Yahoo) are also supported.

If it were a dual SIM handset, the iNQ Chat 3G might have given the other dual SIM QWERTY cell phones a run for their money. However, the pricing (at Rs. 7,999 and Rs. 7,499, in Maharashtra and the rest of India, respectively) might prove to be a damper to sales.

The key aspect on which sales will hinge is whether it is ‘locked’ or not – ie. will it work with service providers other than Aircel. With MTNL having extended the free trial of their ‘3G Jadoo’ service, customers might be inclined to pair the two to get the benefit of BWA (broadband wireless access) straight away.

The unofficial specs I saw included – GPRS Class 10, EDGE Class 10, 3G, 3.15 MP camera with autofocus, GPS/browser support, etc., which is on par with higher priced handsets. Quality of the display and stand-by/talk time (which will be evident when tested) will also be factors in deciding its popularity.

Aircel’s introductory offer at Rs. 251 gives internet browsing (upto 2GB/month) and 150 local Aircel to Aircel minutes – both for 3 months.
