Interbank Mobile Payment Service (IMPS) is an instant interbank electronic fund transfer service through mobile phones. IMPS would facilitate ICICI Bank Customers to send money instantaneously to any other person registered for IMPS service in any of participating banks (including ICICI Bank), using iMobile application. All IMPS registered customers can also act as beneficiaries to receive money from any participating bank (including ICICI Bank).
Now you can send money instantly from your savings bank account using your mobile number along with a 7 digit MMID^ (Mobile Money Identifier) number. To receive funds you will need to generate MMID^.
This service is currently available for funds transfer between ICICI Bank and the following banks:
- Axis Bank
- Federal Bank[advt]
- Kotak Bank
- State Bank of India
- Bank of India
- HDFC Bank
- Lakshmi Vilas Bank
- Union Bank of India
- Corporation Bank
- Indian Bank
- Oriental Bank of Commerce
- Yes Bank
How to Transfer Money?
- Go to iMobile on your mobile phone
- Select Transfer Funds under Insta FT
- Enter beneficiaries 10 digit mobile number and 7 digit MMID^ number followed by the amount you wish to transfer
- Confirm entered details
- To authenticate, enter the required 3 grid values (eg: I=24,K=54,M=43), of the 16 grid values present at the back of your ICICI Bank debit card
- Once your details are authenticated, the money is transferred instantly from your account. You will also get an SMS with the transaction status
How to Receive Money?
- To receive money to your account via instant money transfer you will need to share your mobile number and MMID^ with the payee
- To generate MMID^
A. Call ICICI 24hr Customer Care OR
B. Go to iMobile on your mobile phone
- Select Transfer Funds under Insta FT
- Click on Generate MMID^ number
Getting IMPS Service
This service is currently available through ICICI Bank iMobile Application

B) Existing iMobile Users
- Go to iMobile on your phone
- Select Bank Menu
- Select Options menu
- Select “Upgrade Services”
- In Bank Services Menu list – last menu will be Insta FT (IMPS)
^ MMID – stands for Mobile Money Identifier, which is a unique 7 digit id corresponding to every savings account. It is issued by a participating bank to their Mobile Banking registered customers for availing IMPS service as a beneficiary.
A customer will have different MMID’s for different accounts and all these can be linked to a single mobile number
