PortScan is a simple tool which can quickly scan your system (or just a defined IP address range) to reveal any connected network devices. This is often used by administrators to verify security policies of their networks and by attackers to identify running services on a host with the view to compromise it.
[advt]The program is portable, and very easy to use. Just launch it, click Start and wait for the report. This is really quite detailed: for any connected PCs, say, you’ll see their IP address, network and host name, open ports and network shares, amongst other information. And a Ping tab also allows you to ping particular IP addresses or host names, and see basic statistics on the results.
