Netbooks : Asus Eee PC 1005PE, Dell Inspiron Mini 10, MSI Wind U130 & U135, HP Mini 210

Asus has introduced new Asus Eee PC 1005PE with the recently announced Pineview 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor. With the new Pineview processor (Intel Atom N450 processor), Asus Eee PC 1005PE boasts of Intel GMA 3150 graphics and standard netbook features. The Eee PC 1005PE will come with Windows 7 Starter edition. Asus offers 1GB DDR2 memory and 250GB hard disk for storage by default. The 10-inch LED-backlight display offers 1024×600 pixel resolution. The netbook also include a 0.3 megapixel webcam, Wi-Fi (b/g), LAN port, microphone, VGA port, headphone jack, three USB 2.0 port and memory card reader. The battery life is more than 6 hours.

Dell has re-introduced Dell Inspiron Mini 10 netbooks packed with recently announced Intel Atom N450 processor. Dell is expected to make the new Inspiron Mini available from January 7, 2010 for $299 (Rs. 14,400 approx.) in U.S. Mini 10 will come pre-loaded with Windows 7/XP and will also be offered with Ubuntu Linux from February 2010 onwards. Consumers can go for Bluetooth, 3G and GPS options. It also comes with a Broadcom Crystal HD Solution and built-in TV tuner. The Boardcom’s solution will enable playing 720p and 1080p content on the 1366×768 pixel resolution screen. The new Dell Inspiron Mini 10 would be available in seven colors: white, blue, purple, green, red, pink and black.

MSI also released new MSI Wind U130 and U135 netbooks. The two are the first netbooks to achieve international WiMAX Forum certification, pushing the limit of current generation mobile technology. Both notebooks feature a 10” LED backlit display with 1024×600 screen resolution.

Both models offer exemplary connectivity and entertainment, supporting 3.5G WiMAX communication technologies as an option, as well as built-in 802.11b/g/n WLAN, an integrated 1.3 megapixel webcam, V2.0 EDR Bluetooth, stereo speakers and microphones. Bundled software includes MSI’s Easy Face security recognition software, Visual Effect 2 and Print Creation packages.

With the MSI ECO Engine Technology, users can choose from 5 power supply modes – Gaming, Movie, Presentation, Document and Turbo Battery. Each of these modes offers the most effective balance of battery longevity and performance for each scenario. laptoping.com reports that, eCost.com has listed nine HP Mini 210 10.1-inch netbook models, featuring the new Atom N450 1.66GHz processor with the Intel GMA 3150 graphics. The new netbooks also include 1GB of RAM, a 160 or 250GB hard drive with Windows 7 Starter Edition pre-installed, a 3-cell or 6-cell battery, a chicklet keyboard, integrated web camera and microphone, 802.11b/g or b/g/n WiFi, and a 5-in-1 media card reader. Color choices include Solid Black, Pacific Blue, Sonoma Red, Matte Black with Pattern, and Matte Silver with Pattern. The HP Mini 210 starts at $321.
