2007 Year-End Google India Zeitgeist

Google released its first ever annual Google Zeitgeist Report for India. It is the list of most popular and fast rising search queries submitted to Google India. Google India selects the search terms based on a few criteria – search terms that grew tremendously in 2007, terms that brought traffic and search volume.

BTW, I was not able to find the press release in any of the Google websites. None of the websites nor the blogs who published the press release have the actual link. I can’t believe that, Google, the #1 internet company for the obvious reasons, did not publish this information in their website? Or is it my mistake that I couldn’t google it out? If you know the official URL for this, please post in the comments. Thanks.

Orkut is the fastest rising search term in 2007, which indicates that Orkut has gone deeper with the Indian youth than any other social network. Kerala is the top most search term in the Places of Interest category, Kerala Tourism can definitely take the pride! Sania Mirza tops in Top 10 Sportstars category, with Sachin in the third position. How did Sania overtake Sachin? The competition would have been between handsome Sachin and beautiful Sania, not between Cricket and Tennis!
