Sony has launched Tablet S and Tablet P in the Indian market. Both the tablets are equipped with Android 3.2 (Honeycomb) operating system(OS). The tablet S comes in two variants – 16 GB Wi-Fi only model and 16 GB 3G + Wi-Fi model and are available in the market at Rs 29,990 and Rs 33,990 respectively. Tablet P is priced at Rs 36,990 and will be available in the Indian market by mid January 2012.
These devices also include universal remote feature that operates a host of gadgets and appliances with the help of built-in infra red sensor. In India, Sony has also collaborated with local content developers to design unique apps for the Indian consumers. These include Videochaska, Star Player, Big Flix, BollywoodHungama.com and Meragana.com.
Sony tablets will be available across 500 stores in India including Sony Centre, VAIO flagship stores, organised IT channel, national retailers like Croma and Sony mobile stores.
Tablet S
The tablet S has a 9.4-inch screen with 1280 x 800 screen resolution. The device has 1GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage and can be expandable up to 32GB. It sports a 5 MP rear camera and a VGA front camera. It has a 5000mAh Li-ion battery that boasts of battery life of up to 8 hours.

The tablet S is wedge-shaped, with one side thicker than the other. The shape mimics that of a magazine that’s been folded over. The tablet’s ‘throw’ feature enables users to wirelessly sync tablet with DLNA compatible devices including PCs, Bravia televisions and others, thereby allowing them to share and play files – audio, video and images – on bigger screens.
Tablet P
Tablet P has a folding design for enhanced handling and use. The Tablet P supports both Wi-Fi and 3G and offers 4GB of internal memory. It also supports a microSD card up to 32GB. Priced at Rs 36,990, the device will be available in the Indian market by mid January 2012.
The Tablet P has dual LCD touchscreens – each measures 5.5-inch – thereby allowing users to watch video on one screen while using the other to control it, or checking emails on one screen while using the other screen as a keyboard. The two displays can be combined into a large, single screen for web browsing and other purposes. Like Tablet S, it also has a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera and a front VGA camera. It includes a 3080mAh battery.
These tablets are PlayStation certified on which games for PlayStation certified devices including Playstation games can be played, and popular titles such as Crash Bandicoot and Pinball Heroes come pre-installed.
