According to a study conducted by Trend Micro, India is the 7th largest spam sender in the world and the leader among Asian countries. India contribute 4.26% of global spam.
Globally, the Russian Federation heads the list of spammers accounting 11.92% of total spam, followed by the United States of America at 9.36%.
The list continues with Brazil (7.48%), Turkey (5.43%), Columbia (5.34%), Argentina (4.96), India (4.26%), China (3.39%), Spain (2.69%) and Republic of Korea (2.57%).

While Asia contributes 16.57% of the global spam volume, the BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia India and China) together account for around 20% of all spam.
Now more than 80% of all Internet traffic is spam traffic, taking the shape of a huge internet calamity. Most spam today is to advertize ‘get-rich-quick’ schemes and similar dubious products.
