Idea Cellular and Geodesic Information Systems have jointly announced the launch of Idea Radio, India’s first true Mobile Internet Radio service. IDEA Radio is built on Geodesic’s Mundu Radio technology, which is designed and optimized for mobile operations. Idea Radio will be available to Idea’s 20 million subscribers to tune into a range of exciting entertainment channels, 24 hours a day. The subscribers need not be within the limited range of FM radio stations.
The radio includes Bollywood, Dance, Indi-pop and Love songs, and also devotional music, music from the 80s and 90s, regional music such as Punjabi and Bhojpuri, and western genres such as such as Pop, Rock, Hip-hop and Jazz.

You can access the service through GPRS enabled mobile handsets. A one day free trial is available to allow subscribers to experience this first-of-its-kind offering. To subscribe to the offer, Idea subscribers can SMS the keyword IRADIO to 55456 or point their GPRS phone browser to http://idearadio.mundu.com to download the Idea Radio client.
