HDFC Bank has launched its mobile banking application in Hindi for Android users, for the Hindi-speaking population of India. HDFC bank already has mobile banking solutions ranging from SMS banking, browser-based and application-based applications for smartphones.
The bank said that, 82 per cent of all customer-initiated transactions happen on electronic channels. It is estimated that there are around 565 million Hindi-speaking population in India.
This application allows customers using an Android smartphone to conduct over 30 banking transactions, ranging from balance enquiry and checking transaction history to fund transfer and bill payments.
The English-language mobile banking app launched last year already has 12 lakh users. With the Hindi option, the user base is expected to touch 16 lakh.
