Vodafone joins hands with Research In Motion (RIM) to offer high quality wireless internet services for its subscribers in India. Currently three BlackBerry mobile handsets are in offer for subscribers who wish to have high speed internet connectivity on the go. The models provided include the BlackBerry 8520 which is priced at Rs 11,900, BlackBerry Storm 9520 priced at Rs 21,750 and BlackBerry Bold 9700 which is priced at Rs 25,500.
For different user segments, Vodafone has customized internet packages to choose from.
Plans based on BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS)
499 Plan – BlackBerry Internet Service Plan of Rs 499 provides free 500 KB data. Extra usage charges will be 15p/1KB.
1099 Plan – 1099 plan from Vodafone offers unlimited internet usage. You can look into the features from the table below.
To activate the 1099 Plan, you need to send an SMS ACT_BBP to 56789 (Rs 3/SMS). You will be charged Rs 1099 which is the default rental charge for the service.
Plans based on BlackBerry Enterprise Solution (BES)
899 Plan – The Blackberry Enterprise solution of Rs 899 provides unlimited usage. To activate the BlackBerry Enterprise Solution 899 Plan, you need to send an SMS ACT_BBE to 56789 (Rs 3/SMS). Rs 899 will be charged as the default rental for the service.
Other plans:
BlackBerry Service @ Rs 299 – You can look into the features in the plan from the table provided at the end. For activating the Vodafone BlackBerry Service @ Rs 299, you need to send an SMS ACT BBPL to 111 (toll free).
You can also avail flexible Vodafone prepaid plans for BlackBerry. The tariffs are Rs 15 (1 day validity), Rs 44 (3 days validity), Rs 100 (7 days validity) and Rs 399 (30 days validity)
With these wireless internet solutions from Vodafone and BlackBerry, you never have to miss any of your urgent personal or business emails anymore. The Push mail technology ensures that all new mails coming to your mail server will instantly arrive in your BlackBerry device. With a subscription to Vodafone Mobile Connect, you can also use your BlackBerry as a modem.
