twhirl is a free desktop Twitter client, connects to multiple Twitter and Friendfeed accounts, laconi.ca, Seesmic Video accounts and provides notification of new tweets, URL shortening, cross posting, timeline filtering, and tweet searching.
twhirl is based on the new Adobe AIR platform that allows web development techniques to be used to create desktop applications. It is powered by the Flash-based Flex 3 framework, also from Adobe.
twhirl is originally created by Marco Kaiser, a web and software developer from Germany and In April 2008, Seesmic, Inc. acquired twhirl.
