Tata Teleservices launched Photon TV, a new application for its mobile broadband subscribers to watch television channels on personal computers and laptops. This Photon TV service is available to the Tata Photon plus users across 22 states. TATA Photon TV service is currently available for on TATA Photon + Postpaid users.
Photon TV is a personal computer and laptop-based video streaming application, which allows users to view sports, news and movie channels on their computer. Photon TV promises to stream the TV channel content only in HSIA (High Speed Internet Access) network. It works with Windows OS. It does not require any other software such are real player.
The photon TV service works on a subscription model. There are 3 subscription models – Rs 4 per channel per month, Rs 29 per month for 10 channels or Rs 75 per month for all 40 channels 70+channels [updated on 18th November 2010]that are available. These rates doesn’t include charges for special events like cricket matches etc…[advt]
TATA Photon TV Services is available only for postpaid users of TATA Photon+. Browsing charges as per your Photon+ tariff plan would be applicable while viewing Photon TV. These charges would be over and above the subscription charges for the Photon TV. (approximate data usage is 1-2MB per Min).
Photon TV is a Live TV directly streamed onto your Laptop or desktop using your TATA Photon+ mobile broadband. You can select from an exhaustive list of 40+channels 70+ channels [updated on 18th November 2010]in various categories like News, Sports, entertainment etc. You can watch your favourite regional channels like ETV Marathi, Gujarati, Bangla, TV9 Kannada, etc..
Subscribing to a Channel
- Download & Install the application. Run the application
- Click on the Channel list & select the channel to view.
- click on the ‘play’ button on the channel image
- A pop up message appears asking the user if he wishes to subscribe for the channel
- Click on ‘Ok’ button
- Subscription page opens up with the list of subscription packs.User can subscribe to it
