Tata DOCOMO, the GSM brand of Tata Teleservices Limited, recently launched its operations in Ahmedabad. With this launch, Tata DOCOMO’s industry-changing ‘Pay-for-what-you-use’ model is now available in Ahmedabad as well, including the game-changing per-second pulse. Launched in South India in late June 2009, Tata DOCOMO’s 3G-ready services have received tremendous response across the country. Tata DOCOMO has so far launched in 17 telecom Circles across the country in the short span of just over 10 months.
Tata DOCOMO has also inaugurated its first Dive-In Store in Ahmedabad city, which is a non-intrusive Experience Zone that enables independent and singular user experience. Tata DOCOMO is showcasing the rich world of Value-Added Services at these stores, allowing visitors to explore the latest in telecom technology and gadgetry. The store has unique VAS kiosks that help customers come up to speed on latest offerings and services. The Dive-In Store is an innovative concept that offers a relaxing and interactive environment for consumers, aimed at inspiring and educating them on the benefits of mobility.
TATA DOCOMO is Tata Teleservices Limited’s telecom service on the GSM platform-arising out of the Tata Group’s strategic alliance with Japanese telecom major NTT DOCOMO in November 2008. Tata Teleservices Limited has received a license to operate GSM telecom services in 19 telecom Circles and has also been allotted spectrum in 18 of these Circles. It has rolled out its GSM services in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Orrisa, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh-Chhattisgarh, Haryana-Punjab, Kolkata, Rest of West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, UP East, UP West, Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh, while Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Limited has launched GSM services under the TATA DOCOMO brand in the Mumbai and Rest of Maharashtra Circles.
