Samsung Omnia (model name: SGH-i900), the all-in-one touch-screen smartphone from Samsung Telecom is launched in India. The phone is powered with Windows Mobile 6.1 professional operating system.
Omnia has been priced at Rs. 37,999 (24GB version) and Rs. 39,999 (32GB version).
Omnia brings together sophisticated style and fun, dynamic multimedia experience along with high performance business capabilities to raise the bar in mobile convergence and performance.
Samsung Omnia screen is 3.2 inch WQVGA LCD screen for viewing videos and slideshows in high resolution and advanced audio capabilities. MultiCodec support for DivX, Xvid and other video formats. It comes with a 5 megapixel CMOS camera with latest value added features including auto-focus, face and smile detection, and auto panorama shot.
The handset is available in 8GB or 16GB capacity, and has extendable slots for adding extra memory. Omnia also offers GPS with navigation ans geo-tagging capabilities.
Omnia gives users a mobile extension of thier PC experience with access to MS Office docuemnts such as PowerPoint, Excel and Word. USers can also receive email and manage their appointments in Outlook while on the go.
