Nook eReader (eBook Reader) from Barnes & Noble

Barnes & Noble Nook eBook Reader is an ebook reader developed by Barnes & Noble. The Nook is based on the Android platform. It include Wi-Fi and AT&T 3G wireless connectivity, a six inch E Ink display, and a separate, smaller color touchscreen that serves as the primary input device. The nook competes with the Amazon Kindle, B&N has provided a comparison with Amazon Kindle.

The Nook has the most advanced E ink Vizplex electronic paper display reads like the printed page. With no glare or backlight, and adjustable text size, you can read comfortably for hours.

Barnes & Noble Nook is first announced in the US on October 2009 and was released November 30, 2009. The Nook is priced USD 259.

With B&N Nook, you can store as many as 1,500 eBooks, eNewspapers, and eMagazines on your nook’s 2 GB of internal storage. You can add Micro SD card, if you need more space.

The nook has a MicroSD expansion slot for extra storage. Users will be able to share purchased books with others who are using Barnes & Noble’s reader application software for iPhone, iPod Touch, Mac, and Windows.

With Nook, you can get bestsellers and new releases, your favorite eNewspapers, and eMagazines all delivered fast and free via 3G wireless or Wi-Fi. You can read for up to ten days without recharging with wireless off. nook comes with an installed rechargable battery, which can be charged via USB to computer system or power adapter. Average charging time is 3.5 hours from wall outlet.

The nook has Reading Now virtual bookmark to bring you back to the last book you’ve read, right where you left off.

The nook can be used as an MP3 player to listen to audio books or music. nook holds about 26 hours of audio. Nook comes with a built-in mono speaker and supports universal 3.5 mm stereo headphone jack.

You can share favorite eBooks with your friends or family. Most eBooks can be lent for up to 14 days at a time. Just choose the eBook you want to share and send it to your friend’s nook – or to any PC or Mac OS or any iPhone or iPod touch with the free Barnes & Noble eReader software downloaded on it.
