Insert Images in Emails in Gmail

Whether you get tired of writing “see attachment” or you just want your messages to look prettier, you can insert inline images to your messages to dress them up.

To get started, follow these steps:

  • Click the gear icon in the upper-right and select Gmail settings and select the Labs tab.
  • Select the ‘Enable’ button next to ‘Inserting images’.
  • Click Save.

When you’re composing a message, you’ll see an icon in the Gmail toolbar, between the emoji and the link buttons. Click that to insert an image (you can add either a URL or a file you’ve saved to your computer).

Keep in mind that labs are experimental features and might break or disappear, so if you’re experiencing problems with your Gmail after enabling this lab, try disabling Labs as a troubleshooting step. [source]
