IMO.IM is a web based instant messaging service startup company in Palo Alto, CA founded by one of the first ten employees at Google, and advised by several early Googlers.
IMO provides instant messaging service where you can instant message your friends on AIM, Google Talk, MSN, and Yahoo Messenger. Through IMO, you can login to each of the above messenger service separately or link them together for single sign on. This is useful when instant messaging applications are blocked in your organization or school.
IMO provides free group chat. This is a little different than traditional group chat. In a single group chat window, you can have buddies from AIM, Google Talk, MSN, and Yahoo Messenger all talking to each other.
Also, your buddies don’t even have to be logged into IMO to group chat. If you invite a buddy who is not on IMO, they will be sent a URL which leads them to an IMO page where they can participate in the group chat. Your friend is also free to then sign into IMO if he/she wants to invite more people to the chat.
The Video chat feature allows you to communicate with your friends through video and audio without needing to downloads anything. The Video chat is web-based and uses flash technology. You may need to install the flash plug-in for your browser if you haven’t already done.
IMO is also planning to write Java as well as smartphone clients so that imo is accessible on mobile devices soon.
Thanks to Ashley at imo.im, for informing about the new launching of Video Chat at http://imo.im
