It is very easy to sign up and analyze traffic to your site or blog. I created a profile for www.ananthapuri.com and another one for this blog. It takes more than 12 hours to see the first report, I am waiting…
Google use the Urchin analytics software and made it accessible to everyone, for free. Google implements technology for the poor common man, unlike the giant Microsoft. I think, bloggers can now get better reliable site analysis reports from Google than using sitemeter.com or statcounter.com or webstats4u.com. Unlike other visitor counter providers, you do not need to link back to Google. That is awesome, isn’t it?
I hope Google will soon release a free Anti-Virus software for the home computer users, for a better tomorrow’s Internet. What else could Google offer now? What do you think?
hoping to see google’s identity in operating system too! 😉
an expected one from Google! They want their identitty everywhere
Roxi, if you have access to raw log files, you can use awstats. Unfortunately, most bloggers and free websites do not have access to raw log.
BTW, Google Analytics provides much more features for merchandising products in sites by analyzing visitors and search terms, helps in search engine marketing, etc. too. And it is not ad-based. If you are using Google AdWords for advertising your products, this is an added advantage for its analysis.
why we need an ad-based statistical analysis, one can use awstats effectively if they’ve control on the server.
