BlueGriffon is a free open source WYSIWYG HTML editor. It is based on Gecko, the rendering engine inside Firefox, and uses XULRunner, the runtime environment for Gecko. It runs on Mac OS X, Windows and Linux. It can create and edit pages in accordance to HTML 4, XHTML 1.0, HTML 5 and XHTML 5. It supports CSS 2.1 and all parts of CSS 3 already implemented by Gecko. It also includes SVG-edit, and XUL-based editor for SVG that is originally distributed as an add-on to Firefox and was adapted to BlueGriffon.
If you want to easily create tables using CSS, count the number of words on a page, create thumbnails or use code snippets, extensions are available for a small fee individually they do not cost much, but the price can soon mount up if you need several.
[advt]BlueGriffon is a strange mix of very basic and more advanced tools. The tools available may seem limited at first, but even those unversed in code will find that advanced control of page elements is afforded to them through the guided use of CSS3.
BlueGriffon is an intuitive application that provides Web authors (beginners or more advanced) with a simple User Interface allowing creating attractive Web sites without requiring extensive technical knowledge about Web Standards.
