Reliance communications is now offering BlackBerry internet services through their CDMA and GSM networks. Currently five models are being offered by Reliance Mobile for CDMA networks. The BlackBerry Tour 9630, BlackBerry Curve 8330, BlackBerry 8530, BlackBerry 8230 and BlackBerry Pearl 8130. For GSM networks Reliance offers two models. The BlackBerry Curve 8900 and BlackBerry Pearl 8110.
You can choose any of the BlackBerry handhelds from Reliance World outlets or Reliance Mobile Store outlets. You can also buy the BlackBerry mobiles from reliance website. Once you have the BlackBerry smart phone bought from Reliance, you can select either postpaid or prepaid internet services from Reliance.
The postpaid plans of reliance BlackBerry service are listed below:
BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) – Rs 1099/month
BlackBerry Enterprise Service (BES) – Rs 899/month
Reliance E-Lite – Rs 299/month
The E-Lite plan gives you only unlimited personal mails and instant messaging services where as the BIS and BES services offer unlimited internet also.
Prepaid plans of Reliance BlackBerry services
With the prepaid plan, you can enjoy both voice and BlackBerry Internet Services on your BlackBerry device. The plan is currently available for non-enterprise subscribers. The rate for prepaid BlackBerry services is Rs 1,099 per month, exclusive of taxes. Through the plan, you will get unlimited e-mails, unlimited Facebook and Flickr access, unlimited IM and Unlimited Internet using the device browser.
Volume based plans
Reliance offers attractive volume based plans for its subscribers. The Rs 249 monthly rental value plan provides internet with 50p/KB usage charges. The Rs 499 rental plan provides 500 KB free usage with additional charges of 50p per KB.
In case of insufficient balance, all services will get barred except the incoming call facility. The prepaid scheme of Rs 1,099 does not cover the tariffs of voice & Reliance Net Connect.
