The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) has tied up with IDBI Bank for the e-Payment Gateway facility for paying Electricity Bills online. This online e-payment facility is currently available only for High Tension and Extra High Tension (HT/EHT) customers, Regular domestic (LT) consumers will have to wait for a few months.
With the launch of the e-payment system, all HT/EHT consumers can pay their electricity bills through net banking, debit or credit cards. KSEB gets more than 40% of its revenue from these high value consumers.
With the KSEB online service, consumers can view online and take printouts of payment history details, pending bills and service connection details like contract demand, security deposit, billing address, etc. They can also view detailed graphical analysis of power consumption based on various parameters like KVA, KWH, KVAR, etc. Consumers can also register their mobile numbers to receive SMS alerts regarding bill amount, due date, disconnection date, etc. The consumers can avail the online services through the KSEB Website (kseb.in).
Kerala IT News reports that, a pilot project for implementing the e-Payment facility for LT domestic consumers will be launched in the next two months in the Thiruvananthapuram Division. The service would then be rolled out across Kerala.
