A new social widget, people widget will be available to Gmail users next week. This new widget which is located on the right hand side of your messages, displays contextual information about the people in your conversation drawn from shared emails, buzz posts, documents, and calendar events. The people widget also makes it easy to start a group chat or schedule a meeting with the people you are emailing.
The people widget surfaces content from friends, family and colleagues that is already available to you but may be hard to find and makes it easier to connect with them.
