Yesterday we reported Samsung Corby CDMA Handset coming to Tata Indicom and Tata Indocom High Speed data plans. According to a press release today, we learn that the CDMA phone is named Samsung Corby Speed and is priced at Rs. 10,400 in India.
Samsung Corby Speed is the Samsung’s maiden touch-screen mobile handset on the CDMA platform with high-speed mobile broadband capability. Corby Speed also supports various social networking sites by integrating user-generated content sites such as Flicker, Picasa, Facebook and MySpace.
Corby Speed will give high data speed up to 2.4 Mbps for hi-speed Internet surfing and downloads on the phone. Aimed at open market space, Samsung Corby Speed would support full service across all CDMA operators’ OMH (open Mobile Handset) SIM cards such as Tata Indicom, Reliance Mobile, MTS and Virgin Mobile.

Samsung at present has a market share of around 25 per cent in the CDMA handset space. Corby Speed would be imported into India from Samsung’s facility in China.

CDMA Providers Offer Free Internet with Samsung Corby Speed
New Reliance Mobile postpaid subscribers who opt for Samsung Corby Speed will get 15 GB Free data with a validity of 2 months. New prepaid users with Samsung Corby Speed will get the free data access with a cap of 10 GB with 1 month validity from the date of activation.
Tata Indicom‘s new and existing CDMA mobile subscriber who opt the Samsung Corby Speed will eligible to get FREE data usage of 10 GB with any plan with a validity of 2 months.
MTS India offers free data usage of 15 GB with 3 month validity (5 GB each month) with unlimited free access of Yahoo India, Wikipedia and MakeMyTrip travel website.
