Olive Pad VT100, India’s first 3G tablet PC, is available in India from 25th October 2010. The slate by Olive Telecom, running Android 2.2 (Froyo) operating system, has a dimension of 7-inches with a resolution of 800 x 480 on a capacitive touch screen supporting multi touch. It combines the features of a Tablet PC with an Entertainment Device, a GPS Navigator, a Smart phone, an E-book Reader, an Internet Tablet and a lot more. It will be India’s first 3.5G tablet with HSUPA (High Speed Uplink Packet Access) support.

Mobile TV : The OlivePad comes preloaded with Zenga TV along with 6 months of free subscription. Channels like Colors, MTV, UTV Bindaas, UTV Bloomberg and UTV Movies will be available.
Mobile Maps : With an inbuilt GPS sensor and ‘Map My India‘ mapping software, Olive Pad finds the way for us. It provides accurate point to point mapping and turn by turn navigation advice. For your current location and destination, the mapping software automatically calculates and highlights the route for you. Mobile map supports navigation, route calculation & voice based direction features, detailed Indian maps and free lifetime subscription. You have the option to choose between Google Maps or the preloaded MapmyIndia software.
Phone : The OlivePad is also a fully featured smart phone, with the added functionality of making Video Calls. You can also use a Blue tooth headset to remain connected with the OlivePad. The phone provides voice dialling feature. The Contacts application allows you to add pictures to your contact, add their corporate designations, chat id and email id. Moreover, the Olive Pad synchronises your online and off line contacts.
Internet : With compatibility for a 3G SIM and Wi-Fi connectivity, you get the web wherever you want it at the flick of a finger. You can view web pages in portrait or landscape mode by simply tilting the Olive pad left or right. The web pages automatically resize to fit the screen intelligently.

Email : The 3G Olive Pad supports most of the popular email providers like Gmail, Hotmail and Yahoo. It also supports IMAP, POP and push mail functionality. You can setup up to 4 email accounts. The Olive Pad comes with a QWERTY on screen keyboard which will help you to write emails fastly. The Olive Pad comes preloaded with DataWiz Documents to go and supports most popular file formats and images.
E-book reader The OlivePad comes preloaded with the Aldiko Ebook reader or you can choose to download the Amazon Kindle from the Android Marketplace to make your ebook reading as simple as reading a normal book. Your downloaded e-books get neatly arranged on your virtual bookshelf so any time you want to read, just tap on that e book and it magically flips open.
Video Calling : The front facing VGA camera allows you to carry on Video Calling on a 3G / WiFi network any time anywhere. For those who don’t have access to 3G telecom services, they can go for video chat provided by Olive Pad, by making Live Video calls over the Internet.
Photo : The Olive Pad also comes with a back facing 3 mega pixel camera for taking clear and vivid pictures. Viewing, editing & sharing Photos is simple and intuitive. You can share your images in Twitter, Facebook, Gmail , Picasa or even send it an MMS right from the image gallery itself. For transferring pictures to computer, just connect the Olive Pad with your computer using built-in mini usb connector and it is recognised as a mass storage device. After that just drag and drop your photos.
Video : With a 7” High resolution WVGA display giving you crystal clear playback of the video. Be it a youtube video or a music video or your favourite TV show, Olive Touch pad plays it in high resolution. Just tilt the 3G Olive Pad sideways to change the orientation and the tablet automatically switches to landscape or portrait courtesy of the in-built Gravity Sensor.
Social Networking : Olive Pad supports some amazing instant messaging applications which allow you to chat away online by signing in using your Gtalk, Skype, Yahoo and more IM accounts. Be it Facebook status updates, Twitter tweets, Picasa or flicker, the Olive Pad tablet allows you to update your social status and keep track of your friends wherever you go.
Music Player : Olive Pad comes with an in-built music player. The Olive Pad automatically organises your music according to Artist, Album, Songs and Now Playing so that even the largest music collection is easy to manage. You can connect your favourite pair or earphones or headphones to enjoy the music via the Olive’s 3.5mm jack. Since Olive Pad comes with Bluetooth 2.0 so you can pair your wireless Bluetooth head phones and listen the music.
Notes : The OlivePad gives you a full fledged notes application which allows you to jot down those thoughts, ideas and everyday things that form a part of your life. You can also attatch pictures and voice recordings to your notes to make your memories even more beautiful. There are options like changing text color, size and adding attachments. The on screen QWERTY keyboard automatically guesses and corrects spelling as you type.
Calendar : Olive Pad comes with options displaying your agenda for the week day or month. Just key in the details for the event / meeting. The Olive Pad gives you all the fields that you would require when planning a meeting or an event. You can also set reminders for the event so that you don’t miss it. Once you have saved the meeting , the Olive Pad sends out a meeting invite to the stakeholders. All they have to do is accept or reject and you will know who is coming.
Office Documents : With Data Wiz’s Documents to go application built in, the Olive Pad allows you to view, create and edit your word documents, Power point presentation, excel documents, spread sheets wherever you might be.
