Nokia 500_frontNokia 500 is a touch-screen phone running Symbian Anna Operating System and is powered by a 1GHz processor. It sports 3.2″ capacitive nHD touchscreen with a screen resolution of 640*360 pixels alongwith a 5.0 Mega pixel camera and 2GB of internal memory plus microSD expansion. It is available at a price Rs. 10699 in India.

It is a 3G enabled device that offers HSDPA 14.4 Mbps speeds and is equipped with Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, Wi-Fi b/g, High-Speed USB 2.0 microUSB connector and charging.

Although there are two basic colours for the Nokia 500 (black – in Q3, and white – in Q4), it has a removable battery cover, which means a number of colour options are available: black, orange, khaki, purple, coral red, azure blue, green, pink and silver.

Nokia 500 is the first device to use Nokia’s new naming scheme. Future Nokia device names will have three numbers, with the first number serving as the index identifier (1-9, with increasing features / price point) and the second two numbers serving as a unique model identifier. Or put another way, the new scheme sees the removal of both the letter (C, E, X and N) and hyphen from the existing naming scheme.
