Facebook announced that Facebook Chat is now available on Jabber (XMPP) clients – which means you can chat with your Facebook friends from any of your favorite desktop instant messaging client including iChat, Pidgin, Adium, Miranda and more.
Jabber (XMPP) is an open messaging protocol supported by most instant messaging software and Facebook is now using the Jabber technology to make Facebook Chat available everywhere.
Simply connect your Facebook account with the instant messaging client of your choice and start chatting. You will not need to stay logged in to Facebook.com to continue to access your Facebook friends.
Facebook has announced that 100 million Facebook users are tapping into it’s mobile services. Facebook handles text messages from 80 operators across 32 countries worldwide.
Facebook’s mobile websites m.facebook.com and touch.facebook.com (which is optimized for smartphones like the iPhone) have been redesigned.
