Project Gutenberg is an effort to digitize and archive cultural books. Most of the items in the collection are free and available in formats that can be used on most of the gadgets. According to the latest statistics, Project Gutenberg offers over 42,000 free eBooks.
The formats included are plain text, HTML, PDF, EPUB, MOBI, and Plucker. Both English and non-English works are available in the collection. The books in the collection are freely downloadable or a user can simply read them online.
