Soluto is a service for people who help others with their PCs. With Soluto you can improve the computer’s start-up time by removing unnecessary applications from the system’s boot-up sequence. The program also displays as much information about each process as possible, as long as it’s available though this is not always the case.
The program calculates the time your system takes to boot up completely, and shows you a colorful, animated report divided into three main areas: required components that can’t be removed (in gray), potentially removable components (in orange) and programs you can easily get rid of (in green).
How does it work:
A power user joins the service and sends invitations to friends that need help with their PCs. These invitations include a unique URL to download an agent that communicates with its back-end servers. As soon as the friends install the agent, the power user starts receiving notifications about various PC frustrations they experience, and can take simple remote actions to help them. Power users can take care of PCs even if they’re turned off or in another country.
What can power users do with Soluto:
- See what applications have crashed or been non-responsive recently
- Remotely install Skype, Dropbox, etc.
- Configure default browser, homepage and search engine
- See CPU temperature, fan speed, etc.
- Receive alerts about rare or problematic drivers
- Remove browser toolbars and other add-ons
