Short Voice Messaging Service ‘Bubble Talk’

AVING reported fromĀ  the NXTcomm 2008 that NEC Corporation of Japan had demonstrated a carrier-grade Click, Talk, and Send asynchronous short voice messaging service ‘Bubble Talk’.

This new messaging alternative to the SMS works on all handheld devices and across operators and networks. From any mobile phone, the sender dials a * key followed by the mobile number of the recipient. After the BubbleTONE, the sender speaks the message and simply hangs up to send the message.

Bharti Airtel in India have already launched the Bubble Talk service. I don’t own an airtel phone, so haven’t used that service. Did you try it out? How does it feel?
