Wink is a freeware screen capture, and tutorial and presentation creation software. It supports many features such as input-based capture and text annotations. Navigation buttons can be added to any presentation and the bitmaps for all presentation controls can be edited.
Using Wink you can capture screenshots, mouse movements, add explanations boxes, buttons, titles etc and specifying your own explanations with them and thus generate a highly effective tutorial for your users.
And all this in a standard Windows-based UI with drag-and-drop editing makes it very easy to create high quality tutorials/documentation. Using Wink you can create content viewable across the web in all these users’ desktops.
The current version is 2.0 (Windows) and 1.5 (Linux). Wink is distributed for free, but it is not open source.

Portable Wink
Wink portable can be installed to an USB flash drive or any other portable device and then used on any computer. When Portable Wink is run from from the portable device it will temporarily create Winks settings in Windows registry and when closing Wink the used settings will be saved back to the portable device and deleted from the registry so no traces of Wink are left at the host computer unless you yourself save files to the computers hard drive.
This installer can also be used to install Wink on computers where it might not be possible to install the ordinary version of Wink because the ordinary installer requires access to other parts of Windows registry. Also note that the portable installer doesn’t create any shortcuts to starting Wink.
