Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd, Mumbai is now offering BlackBerry Internet Services for its subscribers with three BlackBerry handsets – The BlackBerry Bold 9000 (Rs 26,500), BlackBerry Curve 8310 (Rs 19,000) and BlackBerry 8700G (Rs 10,000).
If you are already having a ‘network-unlocked’ Blackberry smartphone or if you can buy the smartphone at rates cheaper than that provided by MTNL, you don’t need to buy the handset from MTNL. You can just subscribe to MTNL and your blackberry will be equipped with the internet services from MTNL. However, you need to have a MTNL mobile account.
Can I pay in installments for the MTNL Blackberry handset?
Yes you can. MTNL offers you 12 months installment scheme for corporate customers. The installment rates for different models are as follows:
Blackberry Bold 9000 – EMI Rs 2,850
Blackberry Curve 8310 – EMI Rs 1,850
Blackberry 8700G – EMI Rs 1,200

BlackBerry Internet Services (BIS) 2G Plan
The BIS 2G plan is a fixed rate monthly plan of Rs 499/- and the facilities provided include Blackberry email service and instant messaging services. The Free data download limit is 2000 KB, and the charges beyond the free download limit is 1p/10KB.
Blackberry 2G/3G (Unlimited Usage) Plan
The Blackberry 2G/3G Unlimited plan provides unlimited email and instant messaging services. There is no limit for data download. The tariff for BlackBerry 2G plan is Rs 699 and for 3G plan is Rs 1199. [source]
