T-Mobile USA Upgrades 3G Network Nationwide to HSPA 7.2

T-Mobile USA has completed its upgrade to High-Speed Packet Access (HSPA) 7.2 for its 3G network. HSPA 7.2 promises to deliver a maximum of 7.2 Mpbs. T-Mobile USA customers using 3G can now avail the HSPA 7.2 speed, with their HSPA 7.2 supported devices such as Nexus One. T-Mobile has the smallest 3G coverage area among the big four service providers, but claims its 3G network covers more than 200 million Americans. Read full story »

Google Super Phone Nexus One – Price, Features, Specifications

Google announced the much awaited Nexus One phone today. Google Nexus One has a 3.7-inch AMOLED display and runs on Android 2.1 on 1GHz Snapdragon Qualcomm processor. The display is 3.7 inch OLED, HVGA (480 x 800 resolution). Nexus One has a trackball with multi-color notification LED, light and proximity sensors, compass and GPS. The camera is 5 megapixel with LED flash. Nexus One has a Stereo Bluetooth and 3.5mm headphone jack. Android 2.1 has now voice-enabled every text field in the device, which would enable every single text field in the phone with voice. Android 2.1 platform has a new 3D framework. Operators may Skip 3G to Adopt 4G (LTE) When It is Ready by 2011

With the Government deciding to allocate spectrum for 3G mobile only by August 2010, some Indian operators are reviewing their strategy and looking at the possibility of leapfrogging straight to the 4G technology. It has taken three years for the Government to come to some finality on the 3G spectrum allocation policy. 4G technologies could face the same fate. Even if the Government allocates 3G spectrum by August 2010, operators will not be in a position to launch the services before early 2011. By that time 4G technologies will be commercially available for operators to deploy. Read full story »

Samsung introduced the latest models in its netbook range in Las Vegas. The Samsung N210, N220, N150 and NB30 boast long battery life, anti-glare screens and the quick-boot Phoenix Hyperspace operating system tool. The netbooks feature a low power consumption energy efficient 10.1 inch LED display with 1024×768 resolution with a mark-and-scratch resistant durable coating. The NB30 also has the ability to protect its hard drive, should you happen to drop it, and is water resistant. Long Term Evolution (LTE) – The 4G Mobile Broadband Standrard

Long Term Evolution (LTE) is the project name of a new high performance air interface for cellular mobile communication systems. LTE is marketed as 4th Generation (4G) of radio technologies designed to increase the capacity and speed of mobile telephone networks. LTE is the natural upgrade path for GSM to 4G. Long Term Evolution offers a superior user experience and simplified technology for next-generation mobile broadband.The LTE specification provides downlink peak rates of at least 100 Mbps, an uplink of at least 50 Mbps and Radio access network (RAN) round-trip times of less than 10 ms. Blu-ray Disc Capacity Could Increase from 25 GB to 33.4 GB Per Layer

Sony and Panasonic worked together and developed a software, which would increase the per-layer storage capacity of Blu-ray Discs from 25 GB to 33.4 GB. They ahve developed a new method of evaluating Blu-ray Disc media quality even at the higher capacity, which is expected to accelerate development of discs offering even more storage space.
