As per rumors, Olive Telecom is going to announce India’s first HSPA+ (Evolved High Speed Packet Access and technically 4G) phone powered by Android OS on February 9.
Olive has sent out an invite to the media to attend the event. Olive Telecoms CEO Arun Khanna said the company plans to introduce Android 2.2 Froyo based smartphones in the market by March 2011. The media invite which shows Aircel and Qualcomm as participants is an indication of Aircel will be partnering with Olive and will be run on its network while the smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm processor.
