Microsoft has announced the worldwide availability of its new Windows 7 operating system. Windows 7 offers a streamlined user interface and significant new features that make everyday tasks easier and allow people to get the most out of computers of all styles and sizes. A basic home version of Windows 7, available only in emerging countries such as India, Windows 7 Home Basic is priced at Rs 5,899 excluding taxes. Nokia announced its details of its new Booklet 3G netbook. The netbook will be powered by Microsoft Windows 7 operating system – Windows 7 Starter Edition, Home Premium, or Professional. Nokia Booklet 3G is powered by an 1.6GHz Atom Z530 processor. The system features 10.1-inch 1280×720 screen, Webcam, HDMI-out, three USB ports, SD card slot, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPRS/EDGE ready, Bluetooth, A-GPS support, 1 GB of DDR2 RAM and 120 GB of storage. Microsoft has officially named the successor to Windows Vista as Windows 7. Earlier the development codename was ‘Windows 7′ and Microsoft decided to keep the same name for the official product name.
