Google Wallet / Google Purchase Coming Soon?

I stumbled upon this article in Ananthapuri News aggegator section.
It seems Google is coming up with Google Wallet – something like eBay’s PayPal program. Google has DNS entries for purchase.google.com and purchases.google.com. purchases.google.com is now going to the login screen, though login not working as of now.
