Iran Suspends Google Email (GMail) Service

The Iranian government plans to permanently suspend Google email service in Iran. Iran’s telecommunications agency announced the suspension. They agency is planning to roll out a national email service for Iranian citizens. Default Text Styling in GMail – A Google Labs Feature

With the Default Text Styling gadget, you can set the default font, font size, bold, italics, color and background color to be used in your GMail Compose window. This option is off by default. Gmail Maximum File Attachment Size Increased to 25MB

Gmail has increased the maximum file attachment size that Gmail can send and receive to 25 megabytes (MB). Even though Google has increased the size limit, many other free email providers keep the bar low. So it is not advisable to send heavy attachments over 20MB to non-gmail accounts. Compose Gmail in Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Telugu

Google launched Indic Transliteration feature in Gmail compose window, which enables you to select Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada or Telugu. When you compose a new mail in Gmail, you will see an icon with an Indic character. If you do not see this function enabled by default, you will need to go the “Settings” -> “Language” and enable this option. Read full story »
