The Daily – iPad Only Newspaper Launched by News Corp

The Daily is a tablet-only news application available as free download for Apple’s iPad. The Daily, is being made available to iPad users in the United States and will cover everything from national politics to sports to gossip. It will cost 99 cents a week or $39.99 a year after a free two-week trial, and will be the first subscription product available through Apple’s iTunes store.

News Corp. chairman and chief executive Rupert Murdoch and other executives introduced the Daily at an event in New York. News Corp is the company behind the Wall Street Journal, the New York Post and Fox News.

Each issue of The Daily will have original content, updated during the day as needed, and will run up to 100 pages. Readers can share links via Twitter, Facebook and e-mail. Tthe Daily features a daily crossword and Sudoku puzzle. It also includes an opinion section.
