TATA Photon TV – Watch 40+ Channels on Your Computer

Tata Teleservices launched Photon TV, a new application for its mobile broadband subscribers to watch television channels on personal computers and laptops. This Photon TV service is available to the Tata Photon plus users across 22 states. TATA Photon TV service is currently available for on TATA Photon + Postpaid users.

Photon TV is a personal computer and laptop-based video streaming application, which allows users to view sports, news and movie channels on their computer. Photon TV promises to stream the TV channel content only in HSIA network.

The photon TV service works on a subscription model. There are 3 subscription models – Rs 4 per channel per month, Rs 29 per month for 10 channels or Rs 75 per month for all 40 channels that are available. These rates doesn’t include charges for special events like cricket matches etc..

Browsing charges as per your Photon+ tariff plan would be applicable while viewing Photon TV. These charges would be over and above the subscription charges for the Photon TV. (approximate data usage is 1-2MB per Min).

Photon TV is a Live TV directly streamed onto your Laptop or desktop using your TATA Photon+ mobile broadband. You can select from an exhaustive list of 40+ channels in various categories like News, Sports, entertainment etc. You can watch your favourite regional channels like ETV Marathi, Gujarati, Bangla, TV9 Kannada, etc..

    Photon TV will be expensive since subscribers will hv to pay not only subscription charges but also browsing charges for viewing TV channels. Charges per minute is 2mb , an hr will consume 120 mb and 8 hrs will consume 960 mb on daily basis. And on monthly basis it shall be approximatey 28 gb which may cost more than Rs 5000 depending upon the plan we choose. Hence it is not economical to use TATA PHOTON for viewing TV channels.
