Tata Docomo introduce BlackBerry phones and offers two plans for BlackBerry data service. “Do 299″ plan offers unlimited data usage for e-mail and instant messaging. “Do 899″ plan offers unlimited data usage for Internet, e-mail and instant messaging access. BIGMaps (bigmaps.com) – Directions, Local Business Search Over SMS, WAP and Apps
Reliance launched BigMaps.com, local search service, on GSM network. BigMaps.com claims to have over 20 million geoc-tagged buildings across India. This service is available only to Reliance Communications users over SMS, WAP and download medium, With BigMaps, subscribers to search across business, directions, events and movies. Nokia Booklet 3G Netbook Runs Windows 7, Price Starts at 810 USD
Nokia announced its details of its new Booklet 3G netbook. The netbook will be powered by Microsoft Windows 7 operating system – Windows 7 Starter Edition, Home Premium, or Professional. Nokia Booklet 3G is powered by an 1.6GHz Atom Z530 processor. The system features 10.1-inch 1280×720 screen, Webcam, HDMI-out, three USB ports, SD card slot, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPRS/EDGE ready, Bluetooth, A-GPS support, 1 GB of DDR2 RAM and 120 GB of storage. Way2SMS.com Free SMS Provider Crosses Five Million Subscriptions Mark
Way2SMS.com has achieved the five million subscriptions mark, reported in a press release. Way2SMS records twenty five thousand new subscriptions per day. Way2SMS.com is a Hyderabad based Free SMS service provider and claims to be India’s largest free SMS service provider. Pay-Per-Call Prepaid Plan of Tata Indicom and Tata Teleservices
Tata Teleservices introduced a new tariff plan “Pay-Per-Call” for pre-paid CDMA subscribers. The calls will be charged Re 1 for all local calls and Rs 3 for long distance calls, regardless of the duration. Tata Indicom and Teleservices subscribers would be able to avail of the plan by paying a daily fee of Re 1 or Rs 30 monthly and call rates would also apply on mobile to landline and to calls made to other networks. The plan also offers subsidised rate for SMS at 50 paise, for both local and national SMS. Read full story »

Tata Docomo has now introduced a new SMS service, “Timed SMS”, the next generation SMS service giving you the power to schedule your SMS to be send on a desired date and time. mChek on Airtel – Airtel’s m-Commerce on voice
Bharti Airtel launched its m-Commerce service ‘mChek on Airtel’, which will allow its susbcribers to pay their Airtel mobile and fixed-line bills on the voice platform. The service would also help in recharging Airtel mobile pre-paid and DTH accounts as well as Delhi-Gurgaon expressway toll tags through Interactive Voice Response (IVR). STel to Start Mobile Phone Services in India in Q4 2009
STel Ltd is planning to roll out its mobile phone services in India in the fourth quarter of this year, the chief executive of Bahrain Telecommunications Co. (Batelco) said.
Batelco is a shareholder of STel. Batelco, listed on the Bahrain Stock Exchange, provides telecommunications services in Bahrain and also has joint venture companies in Jordan, Kuwait, Yemen, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. Read full story »
Google Translate Service Available Google Docs
Google Docs now offers “Translate document” tool to enable Doc users cross the language barrier. Users can send documents in a specific language to anyone and have it translated into teir preferred langugage by the receiver.
