I have recently switched from Tata Sky to Sun Direct. Sun Direct is cheaper than Tta Sky and contains more Malayalam channels. I have been using Sun Direct for the last one week.

In the initial days, I had troubles in getting it installed by the local distributor. But after a few calls, I got everything up and running.

Yesterday I started getting the error message "E50-32 No Service Available", shown in red background bar on the TV.

I tried calling the Sun Direct Support toll free number 18002007575 from my BSNL land line as well as my reliance mobile phone. Nothing worked. It seems the Sun Direct Toll Free number is never reachable.

Then I tried the Kerala local custome helpline number 0495-39407575, which also did not work. Tried many times since yesterday till today morning.

I also tried calling the Nodal Office for Kerala phone number, 0484-6603990, it seems the phone number does not even exist! What a customer care!

Finally I called many friends who has Sun Direct installed. One of them suggested me to reset the Set Top Box settings to 'Factory Defaults"

Switch on the TV and the Set Top Box, press Menu in the Remote, select Advanced Actions -> Factory Defaults and press OK. Now save the settings and wait for sometime for the STB to configure itself.

Lessons Learnt:
Sun Direct Customer Helpline Numbers Never Work
Call your local distributor or the person or company who installed it for mechanical issues
Talk to other Sun Direct subscribers if they have come across similar issues and ask for their opinion

Tata Sky offered better Customer Service and Support, though there were not enough Malayalam news channels with them.

and approached many local dealers.......no one turned up..........

and now dth is working
