Use the keyboard shortcuts for mail, chat and text messaging from within the Yahoo Mail’s new tab based navigation.

| Mark As Read | k |
| Delete Item | Your “delete” key |
| Save Draft | Ctrl+s |
| Send Message | Ctrl+Enter (Alt+s also supported) |
| Open message in its own tab | Enter (select a message first, or more than one) | Close read-message tab | Esc |
| Start a new chat | Ctrl+Shift+c or c |
| Check All Mail (includes all POP accounts) | Shift+m |
| Close Current Tab | Ctrl+\ |
| New Message in its own window | Shift+n |
| Reply in a new window | Shift+r |
| Reply All in a new window | Shift+a |
| Put message in one of your first 9 folders | 1-9 (e.g., press 2 for 2nd folder; won’t work beyond 9) |
| Forward in a new window | Shift+f |
| Mark As Unread | Shift+k |
| Flag | l (that’s an L, not a one) |
| Clear Flag | Shift+l (that’s an L, not a one) |
| Ctrl+p – or just p ! | |
| Turn Reading Pane on and off | v |
| Navigate through tabs—right to left motion | Ctrl+[ |
| Navigate through tabs—left to right motion | Ctrl+] |
| Edit contact info | Enter (select a contact first, in Contacts) |

To set this up, press: Ctrl+Alt+Shift+up arrow. Click the option you want, then OK. Now: To use the shortcut, press: Ctrl+Shift+down arrow (for next message) or Ctrl+Shift+up arrow (for previous message) |

Just wanted to say hello all. This is my first post.
I came to learn some great info here.
I hate these shortcuts. When I start typing a message, I end up with a new text window, a new chat window, another reply window and all I wanted to do was type a message in my reply window. HELP!!!!! Any way to stop these from working???????
