Google Product Listing Ads (Google Shopping) Hits Indian Market

Google India has officially launched Product Listing Ads, known as Google shopping in other markets. It includes better product information such as product images, price tags, and the details of retailers who sell the particular product.

“The new format on google.co.in under ‘Product Listing Ads‘ menu will help users to find and compare products and prices with their images and links,” the company stated officially.

“As millions of shoppers across the country use our search facility to research and find products to buy online or offline, the format will enable merchants to showcase their products with price to shoppers for taking informed decision,” the statement noted.

This search format will enable users to find more details about the product at once. The users no more need to open many windows to compare the prices and/or other features provided by the retailers.

Google will charge from the sellers for this service, on  CPC [Cost Per Click] basis. The sellers have to pay CPC only for the sold items. To begin with, every retailer/seller must have a Google Adwords account and Merchant Center Account.

While searched for Micromax Canvas HD, Google displayed results from Flipkart, Naaptol and Yebhi.

Product Listing Ads allow sellers/retailers to promote their products on Google Shopping  and may create a better user experience.
